This subsidiary of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, which is part of TAIF Group, solves the important task set by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan to process 30-50% of polymers in the Republic at small and medium-sized businesses. Since April 2007 subsidiary has been a resident of the SEZ "Alabuga". The official opening of JSC Polymatiz and the commissioning of equipment with a design capacity of 10,000 tons per year took place in July 2009. PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the suppliers of raw materials - propylene homopolymer for JSC Polimatiz.
The main products of the Company are polypropylene non-woven material, which is used for the making of medical face protecting masks. For an hour of work, Polymatiz can produce material for the manufacture of 500 thousand masks. If necessary, it can increase production by 10 times.
The Company is equipped with advanced machinery and technology. All products manufactured at JSC Polimatiz are certified and comply with the state sanitary and epidemiological rules and regulations. The competition is held by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations jointly with partner organizations.
In order to improve the quality of products, the technical re-equipment of the preparation of the catalytic complex was completed by installation of the low-temperature cold production unit at the synthetic rubber production plant (SK) of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, as part of the revamp of individual sections and production units of SKI. This industrial facility is located in workshop No. 1530, which is designed for treatment of isopentane-isoprene fraction, butadiene, styrene, handling of the charge and catalyst. The installation of a low-temperature cold at the SK plant is required for the production of ethylene cold. By using this product, petrochemical staff will receive a high-quality catalyst, which is used in polymerization of isoprene. Thus, the installation will allow abandoning consumption of cold produced at other production facilities of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, as well as avoid product loss during transportation.
Currently, the unit of low-temperature cold is undergoing commissioning.
Over 430,000 units of technical equipment are operated at PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim. To ensure its reliable and uninterrupted operation, the Company specialists work on the development and improvement of the existing system of maintenance and repair of process equipment.
For further development of the existing system of preventive maintenance and increasing the output of high quality products, the prerequisites for starting work on the development of a maintenance and repair system have been developed. In 2018, for the first time, a task force of enterprise services was formed to increase the operational efficiency of maintenance, repair, planning, and providing spare parts and materials. One of the first areas chosen by the task force to improve the automation of equipment maintenance was the testing of a mobile patrolling system at the production of butadiene. The analysis of the work performed showed a number of advantages when using mobile patrolling.
So, for example, the maintenance staff has the opportunity to improve the quality of rounds and inspection of equipment, as well as carry out the photofixation of defects and track deviations of the equipment operation parameters.
Based on the results of this activity, the maintenance and repair department specialists developed specifications and process maps of dynamic equipment, and also carried out pilot-industrial work-out tasks for planning the needs for materials and the automatic generation of 4requests for their purchase.
In order to maintain the operable state of the equipment, the enterprise operates a system of scheduled preventive repairs of all its types. However, the management of the Company decided to make this process more worthwhile, that is, to have a more detailed and comprehensive idea for making a list of equipment which needs repair or replacement of worn-out parts.
For this reason, the maintenance and repair department project group has been formed in the main instrumentation service in 2019, which includes representatives of various services of Nizhnekamskneftekhim - departments of the Chief Mechanical Engineer, Chief Power Engineer and Main Instrumentation unit, as well as IT Dept, Technical Supervision and Wages Control Dept. Together, experts solve problems to increase the operational efficiency of maintenance and repair, deal with planning issues, as well as providing spare parts and materials.
Petrochemical staff plans to apply this experience in other areas.

One of the priority business for PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim are elastomers. “From idea to implementation”, this is the way scientists work, developing and introducing new technologies for producing synthetic rubbers. Nizhnekamskneftekhim scientists have much to be proud of. New grades of styrene-butadiene rubber designed for the manufacture of all-season and summer high-speed tires, and for the winter tire range have been developed. Positive feedback came from testing of butadiene and styrene butadiene rubber from leading tire companies.
No less preferable orientation is various plastics. To expand the range of polyolefins and develop a new market segment, work is underway to make special grades that have improved properties.
In 2019, pilot tests were conducted to obtain new grades of the statistical copolymer complete with ethylene PP4445U and the block copolymer of propylene with ethylene PP 7540U having melt flow index = 80. They are intended for the manufacture of utensils, containers, containers and other plastic products.New grades are characterized by high spillability, which gives a lot of advantages during processing, for instance, the processing speed increases, the product casting cycle decreases, etc. Positive feedback is received from the consumers. The process people showed their high interest in such products, which made it possible to put new grades of plastics on commercial production.
