Environmental activity of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim was carried out in accordance with the stated environmental policy and the requirements of the International Standard ISO 14001, which is confirmed by a Certificate of Conformity issued by the International Certification Body IQNet.

The Company has all the necessary environmental facilities, operating costs in 2013 amounted to more than 2.9 billion rubles.

Ecological situation during 2013 was stable, accidental releases, entailing a significant negative impact on the environment, have been avoided.

Practical work was carried out in accordance with the long-term environmental programs for 2007-2015 period. In 2013, within the framework of advanced environmental program and environmental action plans were implemented 88 activities, expenses totaled 868.5 million rubles.

Being well aware of the importance of addressing environmental problems for the residents of the city of Nizhnekamsk, the management of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim undertakes effective measures to further reduce the negative impact of the Company's activities on the environment, which is reflected in the long-term target program "Protection of Nizhnekamsk Environment and Nizhnekamsk Municipal District Environment for the period 2012-2015." This dedicated Company program is focused on implementation of 22 measures, which is 26% of the total number of actions amounting to 3 626.1 million rubles, which represents 28% of the total planned cost for managing the program. As part of the target-oriented program for the 2012–2013 period financed were 14 action items to the amount of 834.4 million rubles, including 386.6 million rubles in 2013 only.

Positive conservation outcomes were honored by the State Authorities of the Russian Federation and those of the Republic of Tatarstan.

PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim has a participating stake in arrangement and landscaping of the common sanitary protection zone of the Nizhnekamsk industrial hub. The Company's share is 35.6%, which is officially fixed by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 05.09.2013, No. 1670-p. The amount of 80.2 million rubles is allocated for relocation of local residents of Alan and Martysh settlements.
