The Headquarters of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim are located in the vicinity of its main production complex and 5 km far from the dwelling zone of Nizhnekamsk. Nizhnekamsk is the third city in the Republic of Tatarstan after Kazan and Naberezhny Chelny in terms of its size and population.

Heardquarters premises of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim take a 11-storey building. Total area of the premises is equal to 16.8 thousand sqm. The premises were put in operation in 1992. Number of persons working in the Heardquarters amounts to about 500, i.e. 2.72 per cent of the total number of employees of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (which is 18.4 thousand persons).

In the Headquarters there are the Board of Directors of the Company and the office of Vladimir Mikhailovich Busygin, Director General of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim. there are also the main management departments of the Director General in the premises:

1. Department of the First Deputy Director General - Director for Production and Development (production management, raw materials and equipment supplies);

2. Some departments of the First Deputy Director General - Chief Engineer (technical management, department of the Chief Engineer for Power Supply);

3. Department of the Deputy Director General - Director for Economics and Finances as well as that of the Chief Accountant (accounting department, financial administration, Economic planning and forecasting department, labour and payroll department, economic analysis department);

4. Some departments of the Deputy Director General - Director for Marketing and Sales (sales management, export management, transport department).

Besides the services and departments listed above, in the Headquarters of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim there are the Property, Stock Market and Investments Department, Administration for Information and General Issues and Legal Department.

Further, in the Headquarters there are Scientific and Technical Library, Museum of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Assembly Hall and the Telecasting Studio of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim.

A letter from the general director

Dear shareholders, colleagues and partners,

The last year became the year of reconceptualization of values and arrangement of priorities for our joint-stock association.
NIZHNEKAMSKNEFTEKHIM Inc. has demonstrated our viability already in favorable conditions of the previous season.
The last year served an exhibit of our potential to feel sure at the time of unfavorable market situation.
The principal result of this year has been a break-through in several directions.

Firstly, the growth of commercial output.
The gross output went up 2.5 % in terms of 2000 prices. The annual output of ethylene was 435,000 t (a record breaking yield in the history of the ethylene plant), physical yields of polyisoprene rubber, propylene, ethylene oxide, monoethylene glycols, neonols, alkyl phenols and alpha-olefins went up considerably.
The results of the last year reliably place our joint-stock association the 20th among all manufacturers of the Russian Federation.

Secondly, the expenditure control program.
Vigorous power saving activities, introduction of management accounting and budgeting, discrete use of the R/3 comprehensive control system ensured a book gain of Rbl.2,399 million in spite of simultaneous rise in prices of utilities by 40.5%, growth of railway tariffs by 27% (by 17.5%, on the whole, for feedstock and consumables during the year) and drop in prices of our products by 50% (styrene) through 10% in prices of a number of other items.

Thirdly, the start of a qualitative break-through towards new market areas (a Polystyrene Plant to produce polymers from our produced monomers is under construction) and, at the same time, application of new financial instruments (the first issue of bonds).
Technological retooling of the Ethylene Complex, formation of new halogenated isoprene-isobutylene rubber capacities, a single-stage isoprene process - we have BASF (Germany), ABB Lummus Global Inc., FINA Technology Inc, as our partners in these and other projects.

Fourthly, steady ongoing social programs as a strategic trend of social partnership.
One example, the average monthly wages of our industrial personnel have grown 33.1% this year to be ahead of cost growth rates that amounted to 13.3% last year.
NIZHNEKAMSKNEFTEKHIM Inc., irrespective of tough external factors, has stable financial position, fully meets commitments pertaining to payments for feedstock and utilities, ensures payments to budgets of all levels and settlements of borrowed loans.
We try to draw conclusions and make good any situation, even unfavorable. That is why our idea of the future can be characterized by two words - confidence and optimism.
