Water Intake Facility Reconstruction Complete
On January 11, 2012, reconstruction of the Water Intake Facility, OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, was finalized, to cover the demand of the Company production facilities for the Kama water.
The necessity of such reconstruction was caused by the low water level persisting at the Volga-Kama Cascade during the last years, and by the disadvantageous forecast with regard to the hydrologic and hydroeconomic situation expected to develop in the Republic, obtained from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Tatarstan. Field works for reconstruction with the purpose to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the industrial hub and population of Nizhnekamsk water intake facility, located in the territory of the Settlement of Krasny Klyuch, were commenced in September, 2010. In line with the project, developed by OAO Sibgiprokommunvodokanal, the required activities were carried out focused on the water area dredging, installation of the water filling system for water intake suction chambers.
