This year’s last meeting of the board of directors of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. was held on December 23.

The results of financial and economic activities of the company were reported by R. Akhmetov, deputy general director. According to him, the expected commercial production in 2004 in the established prices will be 31.5 billion rubles which is 35.4% higher than the level of 2003. The expected growth of marketable product will be 4.7% in the comparable prices.
The highest ever yields of the following products were achieved this year:
• 81.4 thousand tons of butyl rubber
• 59.3 thousand tons of propylene trimers
• 22.4 thousand tons of propylene tetramers
• 122.4 thousand tons of neonols

Construction of halogenated butyl rubber (HBR) plant was completed and it was put in operation. 8.5 thousand tons of HBR will be produced by the end of the year.
Balance sheet profit in 2004 has grown by 13% and amounted to 5.26 billion rubles. The expected monthly salary in 2004 is 10.89 thousand rubles, the level of 2003 is exceeded by 29%. In 2004 the company undertook to transfer 3.33 billion rubles to the budgets of various levels and actually 4.86 billion rubles was directed for payment of taxes.
Production program for 2005 submitted to the board of directors is of no less intensive nature.
The plan is to have the marketable production output amounting to 34.8 billion rubles in the established prices. The forecast of balance sheet profit for next year is 5 billion rubles.
The board of directors highly appraised the activity of the executive management of joint-stock company and its staff in implementation of the production program for 2004 and recommended to make every effort to ensure fulfillment of 2005 plan.
A. Samolyanov, deputy chief engineer, familiarized the participants with the course of implementation of the environmental policy of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. Says Mr. Samolyanov: “During the last years the company gained the experience of utilization and processing of by-products, at present 97% of them are utilized and the rest are neutralized. In November 2004 Czech Quality Association (CQS) being the certification body of IQNet (Switzerland) recognized that the activity of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. in environmental protection conforms to international standards series ISO 14000.
In 2003 – 2004 the company transferred 87.8 million rubles for implementation of the program for control system of environment (SUOS). Total operational costs for environmental facilities amounted to 821.7 million rubles in 2004.
The board of directors approved the environmental activities of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. and recommended to provide to the community the more detailed information about it.
Positive decisions were also taken at the meeting of the board of directors regarding opening of Nizhnekamskneftekhim representation in Dusseldorf (Germany) and participation of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. in the Association “Nizhnekamsk Industrial Area”.
