On November 20, the specialists from Japan delivered a presentation of ABS plastic at Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc. This is a rather interesting polymer material used in automobile industry, electrical equipment, computers, stationery. Russia has got only one ABS producer, which is unable to satisfy domestic demand, while the world market is hugely short of that product.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc is currently looking into implementing a large-scale ABS production in Nizhnekamsk. Proposals of a number of companies have already been reviewed. Another version of making this product has been offered by a “Mitsui” company group: “Toyo Engineering” and “ Nippon ” firms. According to experts of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc, their design is simple in technological process and environment friendly.
A final decision will be made by Management of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc in 2-3 months once an optimal ABS process and licence firm are defined.
