“Mitsui” representatives visited Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc on November 10. They met General Director V. Busygin and lead engineers of the Company.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc addressed the Japanese company with an offer to consider their possible participation in implementing new projects, namely five specific ones: linear polyethylene, expandable polystyrene, plastics, methanol plants and reprocessing of some alpha-olefin fractions.
“Mitsui” is highly experienced in producing all these products. The Japanese managers assured of being ready to participate and proposed relevant licensors and subcontractors for each project.
Number one priority for Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc is an LLDPE project. A decision to set up such production was made by the Company's Board of Directors. Construction of plastics and methanol plants in Nizhnekamsk is also expected to be beneficial and well-timed. New projects are mainly aimed at deeper reprocessing of the Company's petrochemical products.
The meeting also reviewed feasible options and modes to finance the projects. Late November, “Mitsui” will deliver a presentation at Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc with plastics, EPS and methanol experts attending. Then there will be panel discussions for each of the projects.
Subject to reaching a common viewpoint by the Parties, “Mitsui” may become another foreign partner of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc in materializing the promising projects.
