A resolution is taken “To reserve a land plot for industrial and civil construction of a Petrochemical Complex” on the Lower Kama-river. Design work commenced.
1960
A Complex construction design completed and approved. Construction commenced.
1963
Construction of Central Gas Fractionation Plant (CGFP) commenced.
1965
Construction of the first unit of Sizeable Isoprene-Monomer Plant commenced.
1967
First Unit 750 Ktpa of CGFP was accepted for operation. July 31 is considered as a birthday for the Company. That day the Complex yielded its first products.
1970
Accepted for operation:
- Isoprene-Monomer Plant 60 Ktpa, expanded in 1975 to 100 Ktpa, 1985 to 115 Ktpa;
- Isoprene Rubber Plant 60 Ktpa, expanded in 1973 to 120 Ktpa, 1975 to 150 Ktpa, 1983 to 200 Ktpa;
- Trimethylcarbitol Unit 1 Ktpa;
- Unit of Rubber Linoleum, Tablets, Mastic;
- Pentane Isomerization Unit 112 Ktpa, expanded in 1980 to 170 Ktpa.
1971
Second Unit 750 Ktpa of CGFP was accepted for operation, expanded to 1,350 Ktpa in 1981.

Accepted for operation:
- Butyl Rubber Plant 35 Ktpa, expanded in 1990 to 45 Ktpa, 1996 to 60 Ktpa;
- Two-Stage Divinyl Plant 90 Ktpa, expanded in 1980 to 120 Ktpa, 1982 to 130 Ktpa;
- Isobutylene Unit 44 Ktpa, expanded in 1990 to 84 Ktpa.
1974
One-Stage Divinyl Plant 90 Ktpa was accepted for operation.
1975
Isoprene-Monomer Plant 60 Ktpa, expanded in 1976 to 120 Ktpa, 1980 to 150 Ktpa, 1985 to 185 Ktpa
1976
Accepted for operation:
- Ethylene, Propylene, Benzene and Butadiene Production Facilities of 450, 197, 187 and 54 Ktpa respectively;
- Ethylene Pipeline Systems Nizhnekamsk-Kazan, 280 km long.
1977
Accepted for operation:
- Ethylbenzene and Styrene Plant 172 Ktpa and 125 Ktpa respectively;
- Ethylene Pipeline Systems Nizhnekamsk-Ufa-Sterlitamak-Salavat, 520 km long.
Nizhnekamsk Petrochemical Complex was renamed into “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” Industrial Corporation.

Accepted for operation:
- Isoprene Rubber Plant (Unit I) 120 Ktpa;
- Ethylbenzene Unit II, 172 Ktpa.
1979
Primary Oil Refinery ED-AVT 7,000 Ktpa, was accepted for operation.
1980
Accepted for operation:
- Isoprene Rubber Plant (Unit II) 120 Ktpa, expanded in 1984 to 250 Ktpa;
- Ethylene Oxide Plant 120 Ktpa with reprocessing units;
- Isoprene-Monomer Production Facility 123 Ktpa.
1982
Propylene Oxide & Styrene Plant, 50 and 138 Ktpa respectively, was accepted for operation.
1983
Polyether Unit 45 Ktpa was accepted for operation.
1984
Accepted for operation:
- Normal Pentane Isomerization Unit 300 Ktpa;
- Butadiene Unit, based on pyrolized fraction C4 by oxidative dehydrogenation method, 35 Ktpa.
1985
Accepted for operation:
- Propylene Trimer Unit 75 Ktpa;
- Consumer Goods Unit of the “Elastic” Factory, to produce Molded Footwear.
1986
Accepted for operation:
- Ethylene Oxide Plant (Production Facility II) 200 Ktpa;
- Alkyl Phenol Production Facility 100 Ktpa.
1987
Surfactant Production Facility 250 Ktpa was accepted for operation.
1990
Accepted for operation:
- Alpha-Olefin & TEA Production Facilities, 185.5 & 2 Ktpa respectively;
- Gas-Distributing Station (GDS-2) 4m m3/day.

August 18, OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” was registered by the Finance Ministry of the Tatarstan Republic and entered in the Corporation Register.
1995
Accepted for operation:
- Concentrated DCPD Unit 5.5 Ktpa;
- EPDM Rubber Plant 30 Ktpa.
1998
Accepted for operation:
- Brick Factory, 25m bricks/year;
- Gas Station, 600 fillings/day.
1999
Accepted for operation:
- Production Facility for Unleaded Motor Gasoline & HC Fraction Components;
- Cobalt PBR Plant 40 Ktpa.
2000
Accepted for operation:
- Production Facility for HC Resin 2 Ktpa and Thermopolymer Drying Oil 7 Ktpa;
- Floating Pontoons for Naphtha Storage Tanks P-8, P-9;
- Replaced Convection Heater E-BA-111 at EthylenePlant.
2001
Accepted for operation:
- Condensate Super Evaporator ÈÏ-4Â/2;
- 5th Train of Polyether Production Facility;
- Revamped Ethane Heaters E-BA-121, 122 at Ethylene Plant.
2002
Accepted for operation:
- MTBE Unit 90 Ktpa at Synthetic Isoprene Rubber Plant;
- New Cracking Heater E-BA-114, type SRT-IV, at Ethylene Plant.
High quality dissolvent NEFRAS from hexene-1 was commercialized at Synthetic Rubber Plant. It is used for in-house needs.
2003
- PS Plant 50 Ktpa was accepted for operation;
- OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” bought the Company’s industrial site land to be its property;
- With “Sevilen” JSC (Kazan City) as a basis, producing a variety of PE grades, OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” (control stock) and Ministry of Land Property of the Tatarstan Republic formed a “NeftekhimSevilen” JSC.
- Acquired control over 32.5% of the Authorized Capital of “the Karpov Chemical Plant” JSC.
2004
- Halobutyl rubber commercial production started.
- Neodymium polybutadiene rubber SKD-N was commercialized, 50 Ktpa.
- Styrene & Polyether Resin Plant increased polyether output up to 70 Ktpa.
- Nizhnekamsk Industrial Region was established.
2005
- Second PS Production Facility was put in operation, 50 Ktpa.
- Construction of Isoprene One-Stage Synthesis Unit was completed and the process industrial test started.
2006
- PP Production Facility was commissioned, 180 Ktpa.
2007

- Second IIR Line commissioned.
- Cogeneration Gas-Turbine Unit GTU-75 accepted for operation.
- Water Treatment Plant put into service, "Water Treatment Plant-Nizhnekamskneftekhim" Ltd formed.
2008
– OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" was honoured at the Republican Labour Safety Review-Contest per the year 2007 results in nomination "For successful and good quality work in rating the working places per labour conditions".
- OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" was honored with Certificate and Silver Medal at VI All-Russian Energy Forum "Fuel & Energy Complex of Russia in XXI Century" for active participation in organizing a panel discussion of "Hightech hydrocarbon reprocessing in Russia: problems and prospects" and in the exhibition " Fuel & Energy Complex in Russian Regions"
– Quality Prize of the RF Government for significant achievements in products quality and implementation of high-efficiency quality management methods.
- OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" ecological activity and sustainable development results were highly appraised by the Expert Board and Jury of the National Ecology Prize “ EcoWorld ”: the Company was pronounced winner in the nomination “Ecological Science & Technologies” for successful implementation of the "2004-2008 Environmental Management Program" and "2007-2015 Ecological Program".
- An automated environmental monitoring system launched.
- First beads of GPPS produced at PS Plant third line.
